A TRIBUTE LETTER

I found a lot of interesting work here on DA when I sat down for a little browsing and “watch” finding… I was truly amazed. Wow! Looks like a lot of people are really into art here. But some in very different ways. Apart from those so-called artists who just draw three lines, scan that and call it a “masterpiece” there are some truly brilliant drawings of truly brilliant people. All those people, who write comments under for ex. a picture of a lame character made out of “sticks” in MsPaint and pretend to like it are the essence of stupidity… and so are the people who make that kind of “works”. Some people publish real art made with heart, that looks like it took some time and effort to produce – those are the people I really admire.

But apart from those two groups of “art-makers” and “art-pretenders” there is I believe another group. “Art-seekers and learners” – people with ambitions, people who seek artists that will influence their work, people looking for “mentors” and people who really want to become better and maybe one day join the group of “pros”.

That’s what I am… I seek inspiration, I seek technique, I want to make my art better by observing and learning from that observation. Here I found some artists that really represent the things in comics and cartoon art that I seek and want to take part in. I salute those artists – all of my watches and people in my “favs”. Keep up the tremendous work. Keep amazing. You are a real inspiration for young artists.
